Dear my friends,
Today I did an experiment. It was about magnets.
The first thing we did was get a magnet out and a couple different things from in the box and around Sandra's house.
Then we made a chart. We tried to guess what things a magnet would stick to and which things it wouldn't think it would stick to.
The things I thought it would stick to is:
-a paper clip
The things we thought it WOULDN'T stick to were:
The things is ACTUALLY stuck to were:
-a clothespin (but only the metal part)
The things it didn't stick to were:
-a clothespin (it wouldn't stick to the wooden part)
So our guesses were almost right. The marble did not stick. I thought it would but it didn't.
I loved this science experiment.
I have to go now.
See you later.
Did you know that some sand on the beach will stick to a magnet? Only the black sand will stick. That is because of the iron content in it. It also makes the sand very hot on hot days, so make sure your wear your flip flops!ReplyDelete
Wow, Nia! Good guessing!!ReplyDelete
Nia, I am enjoying reading your blogs. Sometimes I can't comment because I am not on my home computer. Magnets can teach you a lot of things. I am glad you are learning all about them. When you visit, remind me to get the magnetic marbles out that I have. It is a fun game. Love, GrandmaReplyDelete
